Universal Tennis expands the UTR Pro Tennis Tour to NCAA college tennis venues in collaboration with Texas A&M

Texas A&M becomes the first NCAA location to host a UTR Pro Tennis Tour event

(Palo Alto, CA) - Universal Tennis and Texas A&M announce the UTR Pro Tennis Tour (PTT) will be held on campus for the week beginning September 19th with dual gender 32 draw format events.

With over forty US events already completed this year to date, Texas A&M will become the first NCAA location to host the PTT and the tour’s third location in Texas.

“We are extremely honored to be hosting the first UTR Pro Tennis Tour Tournament on a college campus this September here in Aggieland. What a great opportunity for our student-athletes to compete on our home courts and for our loyal fans to see such a high level of tennis right in our own backyard," said Texas A&M Head Men’s Tennis Coach Steve Denton.

The PTT continues to deliver value to players with a UTR Ranking of 200-2000 by providing a way to boost their earnings and improve their game with an innovative format guaranteeing prize money and at least 4-5 matches. The effectiveness of this new pathway was demonstrated recently at Wimbledon with more than a dozen PTT players competing in qualifying, main draw, and junior events at The Championships.

“The type of format that is being used in these events are second to none and so beneficial for these players in the development of their games. Our facility here in Aggieland is a great setup to host this tournament and we are very much looking forward to it all,” said Texas A&M Head Women's Tennis Coach Mark Weaver.

“It is exciting to bring the UTR Pro Tennis Tour to Texas A&M,” said Mark Leschly, Universal Tennis Chairman and CEO. “It’s a pleasure working with the team and the Mitchell Tennis Center is perfectly suited to our requirements. Our long-term relationships with collegiate tennis programs across the country make pop-up events on NCAA campuses a natural extension for PTT. ”
