Since the FHSAA implemented the use of UTR in 2019, it has proven to be effective in ensuring that team lineups are set in an appropriate way while also providing coaches with confidence in utilizing it as a tool for seeding. As a result, the FHSAA has expanded its use of UTR and tennis coaches around the state consider it the most accurate and objective method of rating a player’s ability that is currently available.

Universal Tennis allows more high school students to see their potential as tennis players, the possibility of continuing their tennis careers at the collegiate level, and to play for the rest of their lives.

Universal Tennis provides us a platform to promote high school tennis, utilize new technologies they have developed for the sport, and efficiently record results of every tennis athlete in New York so that we can properly seed players in Sectionals and State Tournaments.
