TCU becomes the second NCAA location to host a UTR Pro Tennis Tour event
(Palo Alto, CA) - Texas Christian University became the second NCAA campus to host a UTR Pro Tennis Tour event when it brought the Women’s $25K Hard 3 to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Centre on Sept. 13-19.
“Universal Tennis has completely revolutionized the sport of tennis in every way imaginable. Their impact has reached all ages, all levels, all demographics and that’s why we are so grateful to host the UTR PTT,” said TCU Women’s Head Coach Lee Taylor Walker. "We want Bayard Friedman Tennis Center to be a major piece of their goals and dreams, and so we know this is just the start for us as well. Big things ahead. In the PTT Dallas Women's $25K Hard 3 held on the TCU campus, Quinn Gleason upset seven-time PTT champion Marcela Zacarias in the final, 7-5, 6-4.
The PTT continues to deliver value to players with a UTR Ranking of 200-2000 by providing a way to boost their earnings and improve their game with an innovative format guaranteeing prize money and at least 4-5 matches. At the 2021 US Open, more than 15 UTR PTT players competed in the junior, qualifying and main draws. PTT Newport Beach Men’s $25K Hard 1 champion Jenson Brooksby enjoyed a run all the way to the fourth round, even winning a set off of Novak Djokovic.
